Kor-Pak is a supplier and engineering partner to port and marine terminals, providing brakes and parts for ship-to-shore and gantry cranes along with storm protection, crane wheels, electrification, and equipment for the workboats that serve the quay. We support terminals end to end, with application engineering and 24/7 emergency sourcing behind everything we sell.
Ship-to-Shore & Gantry Crane Brakes
Most of the world’s container cranes came out of ZPMC’s yards, and Kor-Pak supplies direct replacement brakes and parts for them alongside every other major crane make. Hoist, trolley, gantry, and boom drives each get the right technology: thruster drum and disc brakes for primary duty, DC magnetic brakes on older machines, and spring-set emergency calipers that catch the load if power or a transmission fails.
Browse port crane braking products:
- Mondel brakes: DC magnetic and thruster shoe brakes for crane duty
- ZPMC crane brakes: direct replacements for ZPMC ship-to-shore and yard cranes
- Gantry crane brakes and accessories: braking packages for RTG, RMG, and portal cranes
- Emergency brakes for cranes: spring-set calipers with hydraulic, air, or electric release
- Pintsch Bubenzer brakes: high-performance disc and drum brakes for ports and marine
- Thruster disc brakes: fail-safe primary and secondary braking
Storm Brakes, Rail Clamps & Wheel Brakes
A runaway crane is the accident every terminal plans against. When wind loading exceeds what the drives can hold, spring-set storm brakes, rail clamps, and wheel brakes take over, gripping the rail or the wheel mechanically so a power loss makes the machine safer, not looser. Kor-Pak engineers these packages to the crane, the rail section, and the site’s wind spectrum.
Browse storm protection products:
- Storm and parking brakes: wind protection systems for quayside and yard cranes
- Wheel clamps and brakes: wheel grippers and wheel brakes
- STH012 spring-set hydraulic rail clamp: fail-safe rail head clamping
- Tripper rail clamps: clamping for travelling equipment
Port Crane Wheels, Electrification & Runway Products
Wheels and electrification are the quiet consumables of a container terminal. Trolley and gantry wheels wear on a schedule, festoon and conductor systems corrode in salt air, and reels and collectors take daily abuse. We supply forged and cast crane wheels machined to your drawing, plus the complete electrification package.
Browse wheels and electrification:
- Hot rail collector shoes: cast iron collector shoes and trolleys
- Crane wheels: trolley, gantry, and runway wheels for port cranes
- Cable festoon systems: heavy-duty I-beam and C-track festoons
- Conductor bar systems: enclosed bar electrification
- Gleason cable reels: spring-driven and motorized reels
Tugs, Barges & Marine Equipment
Not everything at a terminal is a crane. Kor-Pak supports the marine side too: Kobelt brakes for tugs and workboats, phenolic marine bearings that run in water without seizing, winch brake bands, PTO clutch facings, and couplings, along with relining and repair for whatever is on the vessel now.
Browse marine equipment:
- Kobelt brakes: marine disc brakes and controls for tugs and workboats
- Marine bearings: water-lubricated phenolic bearings
- Molded and rigid friction products: winch brake bands, crane linings, and friction discs
- Clutch facings for Twin Disc, Wichita, and Rockford: PTO and marine gear facings
- Couplings: flexible and rigid couplings for deck and drive machinery
Crane Controls, Drives & Modernization
Older port cranes rarely need replacing. They need modern controls: variable frequency drives in place of worn contactor panels, new motors, and radio remotes that take the operator out of harm’s way. Retrofit is usually a fraction of replacement cost and keeps a proven structure in service.
Browse controls and modernization:
- AC and DC crane controls: drives, contactors, limit switches, and panels
- AC and DC motors: crane duty motors, new and reconditioned
- Static stepless controls and crane modernizations: full control system retrofits
- Magnetek radio remote kits: wireless operator controls
Custom Engineering for Port & Marine Applications
Retrofitting an existing crane, reverse engineering an obsolete part to cut cost or lead time, designing a new braking system from the duty cycle up: this is the work Kor-Pak is built for. Call 888-256-7725 or reach us through our contact form and a representative will scope your application.
